World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.
For example an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure how much it can be improved upon the reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a significant chance that the item could become obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs to be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Leveling
The item upgrading system lets players increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When the player improves an item it will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can waste a lot of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
The upgrader for items allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its original condition, which requires the player to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will need to bring every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost that are listed above.
